Special Video: Russell Simmons Visits Stephen Pierce and Talks About “Consciousness” and Success
USA Today recently named Russell Simmons one of the “Top 25 Most Influential People of the Past 25 Years,” calling him a “hip-hop” pioneer for his groundbreaking vision that has influenced music, fashion, finance, television and film, as well as the face of modern philanthropy.
On September 25th Russell Simmons visited our Estate in Texas for an amazing Charity Networking event.
And now you can watch and listen to some of what Russell shared with our guest at the event.
I’m sure you will love it, so let’s begin…
VIDEO BEING MODIFIED: Please pardon this interruption. A better sounding video clip is being edited so you can hear Russell better.
TalkBack to me while you’re here. I would love your point of view on what Russell touched on in this video clip. What does this mean to you? Do you agree? Disagree? I’m all ears and I’m listening, so TalkBack to me.
God Bless YOU and YOURS,
Stephen Pierce

Hi Stephen
I had never heard of this guy but just opened up a new world of wealth by entering his name in the search box when the video ended which gave me another 3928 videos to go at. Now I am conciously aware of much more than I was at the start of the video. A little bit of quantum in action and to me it was not there until I took a look

Thanks Stephen for sharing this video and giving back to society. Here are words of wisdom I hope people will understand and work with the universal law of giving:
“There was a man they thought he was mad but the more he gave the more he had!”

As always, thanks for sharing Stephen. I remember watching Russell on TV in the middle of the night back in the mid 80′s playing rap videos. Just recently read an article about him in Success Magazine. What a great journey.
I enjoyed his humble message about giving and about getting greater meaning from life…not defining life by what you have but by who you are.

Hey Stephen,
I’m diggin’ that Pierce rap tune at the end of the spot. Did Russell produce that for you? Great message – bigger house more problems – empty seats and risk of peeing on yourself.

WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT BETTER IF I COULD HAVE HEARD WHAT HE WAS SAYING.

Hello Stephen and thanks for inviting me to listen to Russell Simmons video. It was most impressive, thought provoking and uplifting.
In this day and time, how wonderful it is to actually “show up”…”Conscious” of who you are, where you are right now and where you’re going on that wonderful journey that I call…”Life”. Moreover, just imagine, that you absolutely, positively…know, your true purpose in life. That along should consciously focus you on “showing up with a spirit of giving all that can and all that you are to the cause-whatever that cause may be. Because on a daily basis, “God is giving his all to each and every one of us”.
Focusing our attention and giving on those positive causes moves our attention from the little I’s and catapults us to what we were originally created to be-”Sober of thoughts, conscious of our mission and stewards of servitude”.
Thank you,
Gwyndia

Hi Stephen,
I like the way you’re always looking to give and help out others. You share the best ways from your experience to live a “no limits” lifestyle. I greatly admire Russell for all he’s done as well. But I was very disappointed in the production value here. Knowing who you guys are I expected more. I could barely understand a word he said. He should have had the mic closer or had a lavalier on. I also heard a low hum throughout most of it. The single camera going back and forth? Two cameras would have been much hipper. (I’m sure you have multiple cameras kickin’ around). I used to own a multimedia facility for many years, so, since I couldn’t really catch what was being said I’m sorry I can only comment on the production value. I still read your emails for what you have to share!

Hi Stephen
In answer to your question, do I agree with Mr Simmons? Yes, education, Yes -consciousness, become a good giver – Yes, yes, absolutely.
Great work Stephen, Respect.

Hi Steven,
Thank you for the video. It reflects my idea of giving, for it is written : “give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over”.
I sent a proposal to you on Saturday by UPS,
I used the address in your book. UPS wanted to know if it was east or west washington, I didn’t know, so I called the phone number in the book. They gave me your Oregon address. Will it be forwarded it to you?
Sincerely,
Ernestine

Thanks for giving this video Stephen. Mr. Simmons was Short and to the point. Being educated and conscious are truly the keys of success. We saw that coming out in the Obama’s campaign and victory.
With regards to giving, I remember listening to Zig Zigglar sometime ago and heard him saying that you can get anything you want by helping others to get what they want. One of the greatest books in the world tells us to give and it also says cast your bread upon the water and after many days it will return to you. One of my spiritual mentors says, “Remember God. Choose love. Create value” The point of being a giver that Russel spoke about appeals to me for as we give with no strings attached, we experience a sense of joy.

WillieGee checking in, With much props to those that make creative ideas and dreams in to realities. I love the Chinese Proverb “give a man a fish you feed him for one day: teach a man to fish and he can feed his self for a lifetime”. Thanks for sharing Russel Simmons. It is great listening an watching as he dances effortless in infinite wisdom. Seeing is believing a man that has captured genius and enslaved it to empower others. A man who’s soul and actions screams at us like Bill Cosby. Brothers Sisters stop wasting your time on being masters and mistress’s of trivia pursuits. They scream do not settle believe in yourself believe in your dreams. Do not wait for God’s tough love to light a fire under you. Get up get on up get on your good feet so that you can feel so good!

I just re-watched it so it is still available. It is well worth another try. Also just when you read a book, you have to re-read to get more and more from it and you will learn something new each time.

Significant insight to a successful man.
In the UK there is show on TV “the secret millionaire” It takes successful people back to environments simular to where they came from in order that they “give something back”. I think this is at the center of what Russel is talking about opening peoples conciousness and finding or refinding their purpose. Even those who are successful can loose their way.

Russell Simmons is a person who totally inspires me because he took his gift, turned it to wealth and he gives his wealth to help others. He is the real deal and a person who should be followed.

The interview with Russell Simmons was on point. On his comment about downsizing from one estate to another home and concentrating on giving. As your other readers stated some scriptures in the Bible about giving, there right as well. Looking forward to more interviews from you and the organization in the near future.

Glad to see that more people are stepping out to tell the truth instead of ripping people off. I agree we need to educate the younger generations that there is no such thing as something for nothing. I am also glad to see some positive rap music. Keep on the good fight for what is right.

I liked what he had to say about consciousness. I am studying in that arena now. A Consciousness of Love is where the starting line is. Help enough other people receive what is their right and you will always receive yours. I want in BROTHUH!

Stephen,
It was really hard for me to understand each word, but I got the gist of it. Givers Gain. I bought the ranch I grew up on in Montana recently from my siblings, and we are now in the process (501(c)(3)) (the kid, inc) (To Help Every Kid Imagine Dreams) of fixing it up to bring innercity kids up there for a week at a time next summer. Intersted in helping?

Not to be too nit-picky about it,
But the quality of the video is
poor. (As if shot with gauze over
the lens.)Also I was only able to understand every 3rd or 4th word
that Simmons spoke, due to his mike
maybe too far from his mouth?

Thanks Stephen, For sharing Russell Simmons with us
it is not everyday you get to see and hear such people giving and
sharing knowledge with so many and giving of his time to do so.
Looking forward to next installment.

Hi Stephen and Alicia,
I am a friend of Scott`s from NCP.
Russell made me think of the greatest tradegy of our times is loneliness. It does not matter if your poor or wealthy.
But, if you accept in your heart to be a giver to others. You are now never alone. You have a new group of friends now and for everlasting life. This is the greatest blessings!

Wonderful. Thank you again Stephen.
My comment is not directly connected to what Russell said. However, this is something that came to mind for me as he spoke. Hope it’s OK to drop it in, as it is kind of related.
One thing that continues to intrigue me is how many people are still using the terms “fighting poverty” and “make poverty history”, for example.
To my perception, the moment I hear those terms, I am focused on poverty.
Instead, I’d love to see something more akin to “make wealth history” and “build wealth”, or “spread the wealth” as in the words of Obama.
We have “made poverty history” in that we have historic levels of global poverty. Hope you can understand what I’m getting at.
There’s a poignant quote by Mother Teresa that always comes to mind for me in this context. She said:
“I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.”
I can’t seem to bring myself to putting my name to a ‘fight poverty’ or ‘make poverty history’ campaign because of how those terms carry a charge for me, and they shift my mind to focus on the poverty. I’d love to see a “pro-abundance consciousness” or “pro-wealth” campaign?
Thank you Russell and Stephen.
Cheers, Thea

Education is the answer but some people don’t even know the basics. I recently bought a foreclosure and went to talk to the loser. Her house was lost basically because she talked to the phone answerer at the bank and believed what she was told.

Hey Stephen!
Russell Simmons has evolved extraordinary
in my eyes. He has always been ahead of the
pack with his ability to bring hip hop to
front and for that he will always be known.
For me…. it took my seeing a documentary
on him and he said something that has rang
in my ears til this day about building how
to build alliances. That’s when I saw him
and his being in a different light. I saw
within him for the first time.
Awesome footage! I’d love to hear more from
him and learn more on his wisdom. Like you stated
he has done it in many different projects that
it’s a standard method to creating his success.
Continue to make this day extraordinary!

Stephen, great video!
Yes I agree to an extent, the successful always talk about education being the key. Well yes that’s true, but it has to be the right kind of education!
The traditional go to school, get a good job type of education is not the right kind, but rarely if ever do the successful make that distinction, and I think it is a very important distinction to make!
Success education is the right kind, learning the principals of success, the laws of the universe, entreprenueralship, conciousness, thinking, goal setting, This is the type of education that is the key to the future.
Someone needs to open up a university of Success, where a person can go and learn all the laws and principals of achievement and true success!
The successful people are right, education is the key, but it has to be the right kind of education!
