Download Your FREE eBay Traffic Generation Checklist (Part 8 of 21)
We are now just 1/3 of the way through our 21 day traffic generation series.
If you are applying any of the traffic methods provided so far, then without question you should be generating more traffic, if you apply them consistently then you will experience an overwhelming amount of traffic.
Now, one of the best ways to quickly monetize traffic is to send it to offers already proven to convert.
Many offers proven to convert can be found at Clickbank.com, ShareASale.com or PayDotCom.com. There are actually thousands of sites that offer affiliate products, however these three are a great starting point.
Once you start generating traffic you need to quickly monetize it. One of the worst things that can be done with good traffic is to throw bad offers in front of it. That is a formula for failure.
So always look to test different offers to your traffic.
In a later post we will explore the different ways to monetize all of this traffic you will be generating. So stick with me here.
Also, so that you and I are on the same page here… what we are covering in this 21 day traffic generation series are what I consider to be the tried and true traffic fundamentals.
As the internet matures and grows there are all kinds of exotic traffic methods that are born. And while I’m an advocate of testing everything, it shouldn’t be at the expense of building or sustaining a strong traffic foundation with proven fundamentals.
Also, with the fundamentals, while truly effective, they can also get to be truly boring and repetitive. And once you get that bored and tired feeling, you then open yourself up to be seduced by stuff that looks more exciting, but is either unproven or it’s a fad that will have a short shelf life.
Chase the exciting shining fads if you’d like… just please don’t do it at the expense of the fundamentals, okay?
Good.
It’s a very solid, long lasting, sustainable traffic foundation that I’m really hoping to help you to build here.
With that said, let’s turn our attention to generating traffic from eBay.
eBay is a great place to sell your products (not ebooks), and we have found it to be an even better place to generate targeted traffic and leads.
And while there are various ways to go about using eBay for traffic generation. You can click here now to download your eBay Traffic Generation Checklist and get a few proven ideas that you can test.
That’s it for today. If you’ve posted questions over the last few days, please go back and check for my response later today.
While you’re here be sure to TalkBack to me. Let me know what you think about this 21 day traffic generation series. Is it helpful at all? Do you have any questions. Whether you have questions, comments or feedback. I welcome it. So I’m listening… TalkBack to me.

Hi Stephen,
As always the ideas about how to use eBay to generate traffic and sell products is great.
eBay is powerful because people that go to eBay are with the wallet in hand ready to buy. They are looking for something and if they find it they buy it.
If you have an information product you can create an audio CD with it and sell it for a very low price with the objective to generate leads… Of course you need to have something else to offer in the backend.
Thanks,

eBay is a great source of traffic if utilize the right way. This report is a testimonial of that. Coach just takes my perspective of marketing on eBay to another level. The most thing coach mention is to be consistent with it and make sure you feedback score stays high by offering quality service.

Hi Stepehn
Because of my location in the world – Antigua in the Caribbean I can pay through paypal but cannot receive payments through paypal and I notice that that is the system that e-bay uses. Any suggesstions?

eBay now has approved Moneybookers and Paymate as approved payment methods, with more on the way. link:

Hi Stephen
I so much agree with your warning about the fundamentals. The saying about not trying to reinvent the wheel springs to mind. While it is all well and good to improve by testing types of wheels eg change the material from wood to alloy or tyre from steel to rubber etc the wheel still is the best way to roll your auto down hill.
Thanks again for your continued blessings
best wishes

In the downloaded report you mention to link to our website (if related) from our eBay listing. Perhaps this report just has not been updated in awhile…but that, my friends is against eBay policy. Basically, the only place we are allowed to link to anywhere outside of eBay is on our About Me pages, or on a classified ad (not available for all categories).
Put a link at the very top (and maybe bottom also) of each listing that links to your About Me page, put an opt-in form on the About Me page and give them a compelling reason to fill it out (free report, item, discount, etc..) and you should be good to go.
Ebay is a GREAT way to generate traffic, if you know what you are doing!

You’re correct and because TOS’s change we also stated in the same line of thought… “if not, then encourage people to visit your eBay store or About Me page.”
So we are sharing the same thought here.
Thanks for your contribution.
Love it!

Hi Stephen,
Rachel here from Ann Arbor. This is a great little list for bringing more traffic to your eBay listings.
Stephen’s information about your “About Me” page is especially invaluable because once you have a customer who has purchased from you there is a basis for trust and a long term buyer/seller relationship can develop if you follow his instructions.
This is all great stuff for generating traffic!
Thanks for your suggestions, Steven.

eBay certainly is a great place to get more traffic. I think we underutilize it. That will soon change.

eBay doesn’t allow for ebooks or any digital products anymore from my understanding.
So you can sell your ebooks as print books or on cd’s.
Also, burn your audios and video to cd as well and you can still sell the product on eBay.
be sure to include a bounce back offer for your other (or affiliate) products when you ship to new customers from eBay.

ADDED NOTE:
My dad currently handles our eBay stuff. My wife Alicia and Lorette trained him.
He also get’s a piece of the action from what he posts and sells from eBay.
So think about who in your family you can get on board to run your eBay stuff.
Make it fun for them… and make it profitable.

eBay to generate traffic and leads Rock!
what a ride you have us on. Great info.
Also, if you do want to sell digital products, you can still use eBay classified ads. Otherwise, you can also use an on demand cd printer/shipper (just google “on demand cd shipper” and you’ll get lots to choose from)
looking forward to what’s next.

You’re right on, and Vince spotted it,
and pros in every field demonstrate
its wisdom –
Always stick with the fundamentals
(even while building new stuff on it).
It’s mighty tempting to chase every possible
new offering from “The Marketing Guru Cartel.”
Boil each offering down and you find
it’s built on a skeleton of fundamentals.

Stephen – I am a fan – I love your to the point talk, and your excellent teaching skills.
I do need to make a comment. I am a seller on Ebay and it used to be okay to add your website links on your auction, and buy it now sheets. That is no longer true. Ebay will pull your listings if they find you linking anything on a sheet or even if you attempt to sell any additional items on a sheet. I know some people are still getting away with it, but they get fewer all the time.
However you can still add a link on your about me, page where you can talk about your products, your website and anything else you want. You can add favorite links too. So that part does still exist.
But here is a little secret you can share with your blog people. If you want people to see your website, add it into your photographs. Ebay will not pull a listing for this – because they have not see it done much yet. Make it prominent, and put on all your photos. Also if you are completely new to ebay make your ebay id, your dotcom e.g. in my case it would InkjetReset.com
Oh and two more things – on ebay you can write guides and do reviews. Here you can add your website too.
I have been on Ebay almost since it opened so I don’t expect to be changing my name any time soon.
Best as always – 5 STARS FOR YOU KNOWLEDGE and the Gifts you give, Michele

Hi from Greece. All these free tips on how to get traffic is truelly amazing. You would find others charging you by buying their products or services just to give any or all of these tips and strategies. Honestly, thats where Stephen Pierce seperates himself from all the others. He cares more for you as a person to succeed rather than someone to sell something to. GOD bless you and your family Stephen.

Hi,
Just stumbled your site and downloaded your eBay Traffic Generation tips. You make some great points! I’m not sure if it was mentioned or not but just by linking your eBay “about me page” or your “eBay blog” to your own personal website or blog is giving your site a very powerful Google PageRank 8 backlink. This alone can do wonders for your traffic especially if you add a few more PageRank 7 or 8 backlinks.
Thanks for the tips!
Best Wishes
