  • Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever.

  • Hey Stephen, very profound message you mentioned here. You are so correct about being able to take a punch and keep moving forward, not letting life get you down, basically the good old saying when the going gets tough the tough gets going! There have been times in my life that I have gotten frustrated when things did not happen my way and I quit trying to reach my goals, but over the years through experiencing different things, reading positive books, talking with people and just personal insight and growth I have decided that enough is enough. I deserve the best out of life and so does everybody that has the toughness and consistency to keep moving forward. Little by little working on your desires and goals everyday is what makes you a winner, you can’t move mountains in one day and pyramids were not built in a day but you can still witness today a great achievement of man still standing the test of time and still amazing people far and wide. We can all do the same thing if we really dig deep into our minds and create the right thoughts and attitudes and do not quit! If you get knocked down get your butt back up lol. Take inspiration from many of the worlds most successful people and how they have faced temporary defeat and still came out a winner. Defeat, failure all of those things are only brief moments in time. Success can last forever as long as you keep pressing for it!

  • What a great speech you’ve shared with us…

To start expecting bigger and bigger punches to
hit you as you chalk up more and more successes!

The crucial thing is to be able to let
life sock it to you and spring back up.

So much encouragement to be reminded of
    this ancient wisdom.

    Thank you Stephen

    [Reply]

  • Inspiring and well delivered – thanks. When life throws you a punch – no matter how hard – just have to take it and move on. However if you have any advice on how to change how a person sees themself – that would be great.

    [Reply]

  • How to get hit and keep standing, huh? Talk less about keep pushing forward. So what makes you stand up? Any clue? Well, for those of you who have kids and watch them learn to walk during their 1 year old age, thats it. Yes, we do all been through that experience, can you recall it? can you remember it? I guess most likely not.

OK. What makes a kid wants to walk? Its simple, in his eyes, he sees all other people are walking, except him. He wanted to be like us. We are successful (walking) and he is not (crawling). Therefore, he will keep trying to stand up and walk no matter how hard he is hit by falling down. Thats the rocky’s moto, getting hit and keep pushing forward. Is it hard? No, it isnt. A 1 year old kid can DEMONSTRATE that spirits and score with high flying colors. So what makes it so hard now? There is no knowledge or wisdom in this world can teach you what you ALREADY HAVE in you. Its up to you to RECALL that power within, and be successful in life. Period.

Just a note, in case you fail to do so. You shall be given another chance agian – NEXT LIFE. So, whats your decision now? This LIFE or the NEXT.

  • Thanks for the reminder of getting up. Sometimes it is really hard to get up after being punched. I tend to let go and drop down but forget that I can get up as an option. Also doing the doable and doing small steps is reducing the fear of the big step. Thanks Stephen

  • very inspirational and a real pleasure to listen too. if only we had more people to help others like you do. thankyou for being there for so many people who need it, the metaphor of punches and getting back up was great, it has helped me to continue to keep succeeding and i now i can and will succeed with all the punches i have had i love to keep getting up from them is quite pleasurable now 1 have a great day xx

    Great stuff Stephen,

I thought just came to me with the boxing metaphor.
Boxers condition themselves to take punches during training.

It is not suggested that we take all the punches we can in life, that hurts too much, but absorbing the blows that life may deal, we are actually conditioning ourselves.
“What does not kill you may actually make you stronger”

    [Reply]

  • Great stuff, Stephen! I’m going to take it to heart and see where it will take me. I think it will do wonders in diminishing the negative factors of stress as one drives on, locked on target, towards their vision. Thanks again; you’ve pushed me up to the plate a few times already, and now I am getting ready for even some Mike Tysons.

  • Extemely potent stuff. I would like to record this so I can listen to whenever I feel like
staying down. So far I keep getting up, even when I am tired. I have taken some very hard
hits in the past two years, and it is true, you will be okay. Thought patterns have to change
though. After some very hard hits, we humans have a tendency to get negative. Positve thinking
is a must to up and back into life. I like the analogies of the past, present and future,
    very perceptive.

  • Really great Stephen. This reminds me of my father who recently passed away. His motto in life was “never give up no matter how bad things seem”. As he battled cancer to the very end, every day he would say “I’m getting a little better every day”. His attitude never turned negative and he fought hard until the very end.

The important thing is that you may take a hit, a hard hit, and think things are bad. No matter how bad you “think” it is, things can always get worse. The other side of the coin says that there’s always something good in every situation. When you’re down look at the other side of the coin and you’ll see the positive.

  • Steven, you are so inspiring and so true. Like you i had a s**t of a life to begin with and did what you suggested. Took the punches and kept on getting up. I mean what other coice is there? Surely we all can’t just sit there and take crap for ever?

When it is happening to you it is easy to sit back and say ‘I have no control this is my lot’, many take that option. But if you want things to be different then you yourself have the controls in this game and it’s up to you individually to decide, once you do decide that’s when the changes happen!

That’s our game in life “to decide how WE are gonna play it!” Blessings to you and all the listeners. Thanks

  • Dear Stephan,

I did like that scene best and it seems to make sense to pick up that metaphor, – depending on how one choses to look st the things that are happening in life. Personally I chose that life is not my opponent who throws me punshes, I am not in a fight with life to see how often I am able to get up again. I am not fighting with life, I am not throwing punshes back at life, I am not in the ring with life. Some years ago I first lost my job, then my beloved man died suddenly, and I lost all my money, – all of this in one year. Did it occurr to me that life had thrown me punshes, that life is hitting me hard? No. Somehow deep inside I trust life because I feel life trusts me even more, – trusts my ability to repair my broken boat and bring it back into the flowing river of my life.

  • Dear Stephen,
This sure is a winning ‘Rule of Engagement’to overcome obstacles, setbacks, reverses and brick walls that always seem to block
one’s progress. I like the rule when the going gets tough to keep your end goal in mind and to move ahead with little things you
can do and keep the momentum moving forward even if you are not taking the steps with the biggest impact, because every small step
forward is a step towards your goal and at some point you will cross the tipping point of success and you will eventually
take in the high impact things that you previously struggled with.

  • Hi Stephen,

It was great listening to your audio again today. The first time I heard you was through your interview with John Assaraf as part of the Having It All Challenge. Your presentation was on driving traffic to your web site. I was so blown away by your enthusiasm and the great information you had just kept rolling off your tongue. The audience was moved by your apparent passion for what you do.

Just last night I was watching the Australian Open, Women’s singles and one player was down 6 love in the first set and 2 love in the second set and going down fast. It was 1:00AM in the morning but I kept on watching because I could see the pain on her face but she kept going after each and every ball. Playing every point like her life depended on it. The crowd was in awe just hoping she could get just one point to be on the board. Then she did. And it was downhill for that moment on for her opponent. She came back and won the match. I was so motivated because I know that is exactly how it is with life. You just have to stay in the game and keep giving it your best shot.

I am quite attuned to getting back up when you get knocked down. I’ve been married four times and am sure I will get married a fifth time. This time I am taking my time with the decision though. I have great fun with my life and I am also good friends with my exes and their spouses, so I believe it worked out well with the Universe. I am interested in being a part of your team as you are definitely someone I want in my corner.

I will check out your website for more information.

Again, thanks for the excellent material.

    Best,
    Gean Webb

    Hi Stephen,

I enjoyed your perspective and thoughts on the subject.I have a few points, and, a couple of questions.Based upon what I have learned about the Universe. We are constantly creating in the moment, our future outcomes.By stating that life is going to deal us some punches, implies that life is a struggle,so we should expect it to be that way.If we are completely responsible for our results,(I’m convinced we are)taking action inspired by our ego creates more resistance, because the very fact that we must “fight” gives us more struggle. This cycle is the very reason most cannot achieve long term no matter how strong their will is.I believe the answer is not “fighting”,but realizing what an incredible being you are with unlimited potential. The same potential present in the universe is actually “present” in you.A seed placed inside you with the inherent ability to accomplish whatever your heart, not your head, desires. So, do you believe struggle is optional? And,do you believe the universe is giving what we call “problems” to us because there is something we need to learn,or,did we unconsciously create that too?The reason I ask is I’ve had quite a bit of that in the last year, and I’m ready to learn my lesson and move on.
    Thanks Stephen,

  • Stephen…

That is such a powerful quote!

Just lovin’ your words of wisdom. I just philosophically punched in the face yesterday but what you said is so true…

When we are playing to win and can accept the punches and know we are still standing back up again because this is our fight to win… what a difference that kind of conviction makes.

Thank you and keep ‘em coming.

  • I am a possibility thinker, who plays to WIN!
Listening to the audio, gave me an opportunity
to reflect and I notice that when I hit an
obstacle in my career, I am completely solution
driven and will achieve the outcome 99.9% of the time.
I can come up with five alternatives for one challenge.
In my personal life, in certain areas, such as finances
I notice that I can hit an obstacle and put the project,
situation, activity on the back burner.
A simple example, I was changing my 401K allotments
recently and I was unsure how to complete the form,
so I abandoned mailing it, till a year later.
Part of the problem was lacking a system to stay
focused on the outcome and the other
challenge was recognizing the need to reach out for support.
One insight I learned was when I reach a roadblock
relying solely on myself may not always bear fruit
because I got myself in the mess to begin with, so I need
some guidance getting out of the mess.
When I collectively create,I produce more results.

My question to you Stephen, is when juggling
different areas of life, how do you create
    the balance to set yourself
up to win with ease and grace?

How many results do you focus on at one
    time to effectively produce results?

Do you see a project to it’s completion prior to
moving on to the next or do you simultaneously
    create different possibilites at once?
What options do you consider on which
    possibility to prioritize?

  • Very interesting brother!! Very, very encouraging. How to take a punch and play to win comes to us at the right time. In the past month we have been getting some serious punches and had it not been for our ability to recontextulize ( shifting our paradigms concerning the present afflictions): had it not been for our ability to be grateful in all things, we might have been on our backs up to this moment. To experience foreclosure and vehicular breakdown within the same month is enough to bring discouragement. But thanks for the encouragement to know “that it is not how much you can hit, but to know how much you can get hit and keep pressing on.” We really do receive with gladness of heart the content that the bigger you get and the bigger your dreams and plan, the harder the punch. So we know that the positive results are inevitable if we continue to get back up and keep pressing.

God bless your efforts my brother and your suggestions and recommendations to reconstruct (start again) are most welcomed.

  • Hmm. Vey interesting. I find an interesting angle on this to ask (for myself) is “What do you believe about your ablity to take the punches?” Do you believe you can take the punches? Because I spent a lot of my life running away from punches that would actually do me good – and I got punched in the back and fell over instead!

As one person above says the apostle Paul said to “rejoice in trials!” – they are good for us. It’s sometimes because we’ve conditioned ourselves to be wossy and comfort driven that we avoid them.

So, I’m putting my head down, and going to get hit a few times in pursuit of my goals!

    thanks stephen!

  • Stephen! I love your stuff. Thank you for your inspiration and motivation.
The law of attraction isn’t always simple. There are growing pains. We are
successful with the more times we get knocked down. I love it! That’s when
we get up and keep on keeping on! If we didn’t have challenges and hardships,
then our goals would not be worth what they mean to us. Our achievements and
dreams are that because of what we go through to get there.

    Keep on Keeping on!

  • Stephen,
I must say that I’ve really enjoyed the podcast this morning. Getting hit is guaranteed but getting up is only guaranteed by the prepardness that’s within you. I admire the fact that you’ve made it a lifestyle to empower others to get a bearing on life. I’ve been running from my destiny because of my fear of failure or the voice of the people that have influence in my life. So starting today I’m going to cut the strings that other use to make me their personal puppet.

Look forward to hearing more of the positive information that you share with the world wide web.

I like how you said it’s o.k. to fall down and pick yourself up.

    to great heights.

  • Getting hit sometimes needs to happen so you learn to take the punches and get up and keep moving forward.
Staying down is not an option if you want to succeed.

I like the ideas about people talking about us. I can relate to the idea of you looking at you then others looking at you.

You are right yo can’t make everyone happy so do your best, play to win, and get tougher using the small punches because the harder ones will come and we will be able to take them.

    Thanks Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,
First off, you the man! I just came across your info. on YouTube recently and am thrilled that I found this site. You tell it like it is, period. This was an awesome talk back session. I love the Rocky analogy and it reminded me of a revelation I had a few years ago when I was watching a De La Hoya fight…here’s what I noticed:
At the end of the fight, no one got KO’d, so it was going to come down to the judges’ statistics. It was clear to everyone including De La Hoya’s opponenet that De La Hoya was going to win before even looking at the stats. He completely out-boxed his oppoonent. Sorry, I can’t remember who he was fighting. Anyway, when the judges post the stats for the fight, as you probably know, they show the total number of punches landed and they also show the percentage of punches landed out of the total punches each boxer threw. Now, as expected, De La Hoya won the fight, but what amazed me and made me think about things differently from that point on was the following:
Although De La Hoya landed more total punches, his opponent’s percentage of punches landed was much higher than De La Hoya’s. This made me think about how, in life, it’s not as important to be so accurate and so perfect everytime you take a swing. What’s more important is to keep swinging and to keep punching, without being too worried about the outcome. when you’re in the game. In online business, it seems like everyone’s so worried about conversion rates and google stats and click through rates, which I know is important, but how many of those people get so paralyzed by the fear of low conversions that they stop swinging altogether (if they ever started swinging to begin with). Anyway, your talkback session remind me of this revelation I had a few years ago and so I thought it mind be something you’d enjoy hearing. Feel free to share it on here with your listeners. Keep up the great work!
    Warmest regards,
    Chris

  • Thanx Stephen. I love what you said about “ALL BEHAVIOUR IS BELIEFS TURNED INTO ACTION”. Very true. So, when I’m just sitting here waiting to lose, my belief must be that I don’t think that I can win. But, when my belief is that I CAN win, I start doing stuff (action) that is consistent with that thought pattern.

I’m currently taking a hit on some o my website developments, cos it’s not raking in the $$ like I thought it would. It does affect my consciousness, cos I went from believing I’m a winner, to thinking like a loser. Thankfully, I’m pulling myself out of that hole, but I can only encourage all the beginners out there – keep at it. Or to put what Stephen said into other words:

ACT – YOU WILL ONLY GET A RESULT IF YOU ACT. IF YOU DO NOTHING, YOU GET NO RESULTS.

    cheers, Mark
