Hello Jimmi,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful detailed reply. I am very glad you decided to to reply to my post. You helped me see some blind spots – and when we are talking about serving, for me it can`t get better than what you have given me.

With regard to the Trading – I did indeed think that I wasn`t serving anyone if I wasn`t physically present. I think this was part of the reason that I wanted to give half of my profits away when I had made a certain amount of money – guilt rearing its ugly head here I do think. I still have the intention of being a philanthropist but now there will be no ice slivers of guilt attached to it.

I have taken on board that the `WHO and the HOW` need to be thought about where my art is concerned – selling does seem to be an ordeal for many artists including me – you have helped me see what I am doing and I will start to tackle the fear about selling. It has made such a difference to realise that getting my art `out there` is not only about selling, but also possibly contributing to other peoples lives in some way.

I am thrilled to hear that my reply has helped You to think a little out of the box. Sometimes we just need an outside perspective to see what our own eyes are missing.

I would just like to make one small correction in what I wrote to You. I said that there are only 2 ways to provide service and that is not true. I meant to say that there are only to ways of making money (by providing service being either a or b).

There are indeed a great many ways of providing service and many of them do not cost a penny. You said it yourself, my reply to You was a service provided – it gave You something that had a value to You. But your reply to me is also service provided, it gave me something valuable – a great big smile on my face. <–See!

And let me tell You the best part. Providing service can be as simple and free as giving a compliment, doing a small favor for someone, saying some friendly words or simply sharing a smile. And whenever You provide such a service You never know how far out it reaches. It can be taken around the world for all I know and imagine that, a small act of kindness that can take on a power of it’s own. – And if You believe in the Law of Cause and Effect, this positive energy must return to it’s original source.

Also I am happy to see that You (now) understand, that your art IS value and that it has the potential to create more value. Also think about this one; If your art makes You happy, and You use this happiness to make others happy. Then your art has already provided a great service for someone else.
