21 Basic Laws Of Business Success
It’s been a decade now since I started marketing online.
Within that decade I’ve lost some… and I’ve won some… I’ve made millions and helped others do the same.
And along this journey I’ve always looked to have high standards in both life and business and to continue to raise those standards.
I already knew perfection was a goal of frustration, and that it’s continuous progress that provides the unlimited open space to be able to give more and get more.
After having made my first $500,000 in 12 months in 2000, I quickly made millions in 2001 and 2002 in the futures and commodities markets. Long before I ever entered into the “internet marketing” space or personal development space.
So, it was in 2003 that I reflected on what helped with this success and as I had my eye on going into new markets and growing our business even further I then wrote a list of “21 Basic Laws of Business Success” that I used to govern my actions in business.
These laws, however basic have been invaluable in a decades worth of success, not just for us, by for those I’ve had the privileged of working with and serving.
With that said, this week my wife pulled out one of the original copies and asked me to post it to the blog so I agreed.
I hope you enjoy these basic laws and that any adoption of these bring you the success we’ve been able to enjoy.
So here ya go… 21 Basic Laws Of Business Success
Law #1: Always target a niche market. (If you want to get rich target a niche, if you want to go broke, market to all the folks.)
Law #2: Identifying a problem in that niche market is priority #1.
Law #3: Creating a desired solution for that problem is priority #2.
Law #4: Delivering that solution for a profit to your niche market is priority #3.
Law #5: Gain confidence from your target market by giving true value.
Law #6: Establish your authority through originality.
Law #7: Innovation trumps imitation.
Law #8: Give – then give some more.
Law #9: Never greet a new subscriber with a message asking for money.
Law #10: Don’t be deceitful, devious or dishonest as it only leads to disaster.
Law #11: Be truthful to be received as trustworthy.
Law #12: Boldness and brilliance will break your income records.
Law #13: Be daring by using the freshness of your individuality.
Law #14: It’s about the targeted traffic conversion, not the targeted traffic collecting.
Law #15: Be authentic and different by substantiating your claims.
Law #16: Don’t just say it, prove it.
Law #17: Implementation is everything. If you don’t implement what you know, it’s like you never knew it all.
Law #18: Knowing is not proven in what you say, it’s proven in what you do.
Law #19: Without relationships, there are no exchanges of products or services for money.
Law #20: All success, accomplishments and achievements are found on roads that travel through other people.
Law #21: When you screw other people, you have screwed yourself.
Okay, so do you have a “Law #22″ you want to add?
…Or do you have your own Laws that govern how you live and do business?
Is so, I would love to hear them.
So TalkBack to me and let me know what you think about these 21 Basic Laws Of Business Success and add a 22nd Law or share the Law’s you use to govern your journey on the road of success.

In today’s hustle and harried world, my rule #22 is simply: Be present. To mean, when we engage in a thing, give it your full attention and focus. Distractions come so easy these days and it truly takes away from the enjoyment of everyday living. The more you can make yourself present in a given moments activity, the more juice you will squeeze out of life.

Persist until victory but don\\\\\\\’t be afraid to re-evaluate and if it makes sense to quit because you can always start again either with a fresh team, a new strategy or a completely new project. Develop a high-quality team and learn to listen to good music, smell the scent of fresh rain, and laugh out loud for no good reason.
PS And always listen to great Webinars on Wednesday night!!

Hello from the UK Stephen,
As always you are awesome in what you do to inspire those of us seeking success online and your wisdom and love of your fellow man never ceases to shine through.
I look forward to reading all your messages unlike most others I delete in my spam filter who only want to sell me something all the time. It was my privilage to actually speak with you in person a few short weeks ago when you were one of the speakers at a a Millionaire Makers bootcamp in London and you were as had I expected; approachable and willing to listen and answer everybodie\’s questions without pasing jugement on how sensible or not they were.
Thank God there are people like you on this Earth, as you are truely a great man to be followed and learn from. My businesses would still be stuck in neutral if it wasn\’t for what I learnt from your books and videos, and although I am a long way from making the kind of money I desire, it is now soon coming thanks to people like yourself.
My law 22 is love your fellow man twice as much as you wish them to love you in business as well as your whole life.
God bless you,
Stephen J Vincent,

Hi again Stephen,
Now that I’m able to
think a little more
about your 21 laws,
I try to get an
understanding of
what can be derived
from these principles
in general but also
for more spcific
purposes.
I believe that
resolving specific
needs/problems that
can be met/solved
with a good message
is important.
A solution to a problem
that can be partialy
solved by a message
that can lead to a
legitimate and
justifiable upgrade
with a product like
a book or a software
allowing some kind
of knowledge and
implementation steps
or plan to generate
and then follow according
to customisable steps.
For instance
if I try to promote
my book about your 21
laws:
I could send out
a message to people
about internalisation
of valuable rules to
use to guide one’s
mindset and actions
when conducting any
promotion or sales
efforts Online.
It could become a
course and a book
about self-suggestion
about how to transform
one’s mind and business
mentality.
If I charge a symbolic
dollar to get people
on board and let them
know that they can get
substantial rebates by
getting the first versions
of the book and see it grow
to a certain extent, then I
have a remarkable reason to
come back to people with more
about the topic in excess of
the new versions of the
digital book.
My suggested 22nd law is as you
could see in my other comment
I made yesterday:
Enrich to get continued deserved attention
since wasting peoples’ time is a real stinker.
Here is my 23rd law suggestion:
Manipulative marketing is not an
acceptable option. Do not strive for
manipulation of people. Address their
minds and be creative but don’t strive
for manipulation of people.

You said this: aw #9: Never greet a new subscriber with a message asking for money.
But what you say about the upsell?
I know it’s not in the greeting message, but many people advise to have an upsell right after someone signs up.
